THE DIRECTOR

Michael Blinderman personally instructs all workshops. He is certified as a teacher, speech pathologist and principal by the New York state Department of Education. He has a Masters Degree in Speech and Theatre, as well as much experience being a speech-drama teacher in the public schools. Mr. Blinderman has also been director of a New York State Title III Performing Arts Program and has served as a consultant for Drama Programs in N.Y.S. school districts. 

In addition to being a dynamic Acting Coach, he is a member of the Screen Actors Guild. He has been featured in Numerous TV and voice-over spots. His special guest appearances on "Hour Magazine", Joe Franklin TV Show, Best Talk in Town, Long island Week, Radio, NBC-TV News, and more have given nationwide attention to his unique approach to training talent. Many of his talented students have been able to obtain professional TV, film, stage and modeling work through his contacts and experience in the business.  Some students have even won major awards, and are currently appearing in major roles in films and TV.  One of his former clients was Tatyana Ali (Fresh Prince). He coached Daniel Smith featured as Denzel Washington's son in John Q. Daniel Smith is also featured on Bold & Beautiful. Blinderman has coached numerous other major talents. He also developed and hosted the radio show "Acting Out" dealing with teen issues. This unique show is currently being filmed as a TV series in Arizona. His 8 year TV show is currently airing in Britain on the BBC and in 10 other countries.

TV-THEATRE WORKSHOPS

On camera TV experience will provide you with the tools to learn the latest proven techniques for TV commercials, soap opera, scene development, cold reading, improvisation, speech and voice production, audition and interviewing techniques.  Exercises are designed to advance your acting skills, free your emotional abilities, and increase your personal confidence. Michael Blinderman provides you with a supportive environment to help you reach your fullest potential.

Your individualized program provides you with the opportunity to advance your skills once or twice a week in small dynamic TV workshops. Your level of experience is determined at your  free on-camera TV interview. This interview will also be an important factor in providing the proper placement for your maximum growth. Students may join workshops at any time!!

Build Skills and confidence

Workshop will include:

1. Practical information about how to get on soaps, appear in TV commercials and create a good resume.

2.  How to effectively use your body, face and voice to communicate messages and inner feelings for theater or TV.

3.  How to make a script come alive at a cold reading.

4.  How to project your personality on TV in a natural and confident way.

5. Specific proven techniques for TV commercials, soaps and voice-overs.

6. How to effectively audition with confidence, and break into the "business". Studio has access to casting agents.

7. Advanced workshops will explore the foundations of characterizations, and building a scene.

8. Advanced students are eligible for our computerized casting for film, TV and Theater auditions.

Being yourself in front of a large group is stressed at all workshops. Talent Showcases in front of major talent agents and casting directors expose his students to the business and gives them additional confidence. 

Students range from ages 5 to 85. Many teens are selected from the acting workshops to appear in The Acting Out project. Ordinary people with no previous training or experience, as well as more advanced students, can explore their own identities in small workshops, while getting on-camera TV techniques and experience.  The studio offers advanced TV and theatre skills for those with much experience. 

In Michael Blinderman's Acting Workshops, you're not just a number! 

He sincerely cares about you and your goals. Upon completion of the course, there is an individual conference to evaluate your progress. Students are eligible to appear on Arizona's newest PAX TV show "Fresh Faces Talent ShowCase"  hosted and directed by Michael Blinderman.

A. Sat. 12:30- 1:30pm B. Sat. 2:00pm- 3:00pm  C. Tues. 6:30- 7:30pm    D. Tues. 8:00 - 9:00pm  E. Wed. 6:30- 7:30pm  F. Wed. 8:00 - 9:00pm

* New classes, including weekends, are constantly being formed. 

Workshop Fees:

5 Classes.......$225.00

10 Classes.....$395.00 Includes semi-private marketing workshop.

(Payment schedule- $65 non-refundable deposit, half the balance is due at the first class and final payment must be paid by the third class) 

* One make-up class is provided only for students who call to cancel 24 hours in advance. 

* Workshops are one hour and registration is limited. 

*  Students receive a 10% discount for each person they recommend to the studio. It is credited upon the completion of course.  

Semi-Private workshops (2 -5 students) fee for 5 classes: $275.   

Private, professional acting or speech coaching is available. Do intense and individualized work on your monologue, TV commercial technique, voice overs, or cold readings. Improve your voice and diction. Fee is $70 for a private 45 minute session. A series of 10 private sessions is $625.
